Description
Presentation / Demonstration Many instances throughout the year we have
the chance to teach a highly interactive class that focuses on the basic
movements, instruments and song, and the rich history and culture of
Capoeira. This is a very personal and meaningful approach to giving the
students a taste of what Capoeira has to offer them. Not only are the
children learning about and participating in Capoeira, but our lessons also
focus on the importance of having a healthy lifestyle including eating
healthy, exercise, the value of an education and more.

Our commitment is to create a safe, welcoming, non-discriminatory environment to learn, explore, and grow as individuals in broader communities. Arts education for adults and children is offered through Project Capoeira’s programming and by working in cooperation with community centers, schools, museums, libraries, camps, and festivals. Project Capoeira’s programs are designed to support and follow educational curricular guidelines. Most importantly, the social interaction between students of Capoeira, many of whom come from diverse backgrounds, provides an optimal space for intercultural communication.
