Brazil Studies Network
The Brazil Studies Network initiative launched in 2018 under the leadership of the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Arizona, involves Brazilian scholars from several universities across the U.S., including the San Diego State University, the University of Oklahoma, and the University of Michigan. The network seeks to promote critical and interdisciplinary scholarship on different aspects of Brazilian development, with emphasis on race; gender and sexuality; democracy; and poverty and inequality. Based on scholarly research, the network also seeks to contribute to public debates about these issues and advocate for a more just society and polity in Brazil.
As a Title VI National Resource Center supported by the U.S. Department of Education, the Center for Latin American Studies is nationally recognized as one of the top Latin American Studies programs in the country. We offer B.A. and M.A. in LAS; dual M.A. (Law, Journalism, Public Health, and Public Administration); Study Abroad programs in Guatemala, Colombia, Cuba, and Mexico.
